Experienced Developer

Briq Bookings is looking for an experienced developer to join our team, where you will develop complex but user-friendly web applications.

Wat ga je doen?

Your direct colleagues are other developers, designers, and testers from Utrecht (The Netherlands), Skopje (Macedonia) and other parts of the world. Each of our agile product engineering teams is responsible for a vertical slice of the Briq platform — meaning they take end-to-end responsibility for a specific set of functionality. These slices include our e-commerce shopping application, a backoffice application, and integrations with partners as well as other third party applications.

Technologies
The Briq platform makes use of PHP (Laravel), Vue.js, C#, MariaDB and Redis, to name a few. We use Datadog and Sentry for monitoring and logging, and GitLab for source code management and CI/CD.

Your responsibilities

• You’ll be developing logic to enable customers to control online booking distribution over the week and manage variable pricing schemes and rules.
• You’ll be extending existing functionality in a Vue.js/Laravel based web application, for example by adding new payment methods, improve multi-language support and enhance dashboards.
• You’ll be developing easy to use functionality for customers to give them greater control over the amount of venue capacity that they make available for online booking. This is very important as it helps customers in gaining confidence in the system.
• You review code written by your colleagues, and let your code be reviewed through merge requests.
• Continuously developing yourself is as important to you as it is to us. That’s why experience and willingness to learn is more important to us than formal education. Wat vragen wij?

We’re ‘ideally’ looking for someone who has:

• Extensive experience with PHP development (preferably with Laravel).
• Extensive experience with developing SPAs (preferably using Vue.js or React).
• Familiar with the JavaScript ES6+ syntax and features.
• Experience with agile software development (e.g. with Scrum or Kanban).
• The ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies and systems.
• Characteristics such as reliable, responsible, action-oriented and focus on delivery.
• Experience with writing tests (unit/integration/end-to-end) is a bonus point, as well as team lead ambitions.

With a team of 35 colleagues we work hard on our mission to make it easier and more fun to book unique experiences online. We started in 2017 with online booking of go-kart heats and laser tag. Ever since, we’ve been working steadily on improving and expanding our sales and marketing technology for ambitious attractions and Family Entertainment Centers.
